finally I'm back and can share some news with you! During that time, you didn't hear from me, happened a lot of news. I'll start with bad news - I broke my laptop :-( I dropped it from 1,5 meters. I'm really mad at myself cause it was my fault. Fortunately, I lost only laptop, not my data. So now I have to write all articles on my iPad, which is little tricky. Well, what can I do? Sometimes happens even worse things.
As you probably noticed, America is currently facing one of the greatest snowstorm of all time! On Friday I was thinking that they are joking. Well, I thought that we will have just a little snow - last year they expected bigger snowstorm. Due to that they closed NY's subway and declared a state of emergency. And at the end we didn't even have 1cm. But this year, forecast came out well and we are stuck home. Since the early morning we are facing persistent snowfall. It's 3pm and behind the window it around 30cm of snow and it's still snowing! On Friday I bought some extra food, I charged all electronics, found a flashlights and piled wood beside the fireplace, so perhaps we survive for a few days :-)

And what also happened in NY?
As soon we got back from Florida, there was a period of searching for a new au pair. One day Courtney asked me, if I could have a skype with potential au pairs. Of course, I accepted it. During the 1st week of January I had 3 phone calls.
The 1st girl was from South Africa. Sweet, nice, energetic, 22-years old blonde girl - my favorite! :-) Second was 19-years old girl from Germany - she didn't fit me in this family at all. And 3rd one was also young German girl. She was little more sympathetic than the previous one. Quite nice and pretty girl, but for some reason something bothered me and I exactly didn't know what ... Maybe her boyfriend or work? I really don't know. I said my feelings to Courtney and after that she made the finals decision with Steve. They chose Soith Africa's girl!
Avery became a ballerina! I swapped Thursday's music class for a ballet class. Avery attends this class with other 7 girls. You can't believe how cute they are. All those two-years old girls in their tutus and ballet shoes. Some children are more focused on mom than on teacher, but Avery's eyes focused only on teacher! She was imitating her all the time. Well just look, how cute she was in her tutu.
School winter break is coming soon. So also this year we won't stay at home. Last year we went on last minute Florida. This year we are going to visit Courtney's brother to San Francisco!
I've heard a lot about San Francisco. I've always wanted to see famous Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Google complex and old tramps and steep streets. I'm so exited to go there, despite the fact that it's a family vacation with a lot of responsibilities. Don't worry, I'll share all my experiences from this city with you. But you have to wait for a little bit ;-)
Also in January I had my weekend off. Me and my friends went to American spa resort. Or should I say Chines resort?
It was a Saturday afternoon when we arrived to Spa Castle in Queens. It was a huge house with 3 floors. WOW! Here I saw something that I had never seen before. At the beginning I have to admit that I've seen so many locker rooms. But this was special. Naked women everywhere you look. And the weird were whirlpools in the middle of showers. So all that naked women, who were sitting in it, just stared on you. But what surprised me the most was the "shaving area".
On the top floors were located unisex areas. In these areas you had to wear special thirty and shorts (women pink shirt and men blue). You were allowed to take it off only when you went to whirlpools. Really interesting rules.
In those unisex areas you could find everything. About 6 saunas, bars with whirlpools, private whirlpools, restaurant, sleeping zone, massages and outdoor whirlpools. Only for $50 you can spend all day here. But we didn't use it. After 3,5 hours we went home. All that relaxation exhausted us so much that we all wanted to sleep :D
