Hi everyone,
how did you enjoy Christmas holidays? Are you full of energy or you are fighting with overweight after Christmas? This year I ate all cookies before Christmas, so it won´t go bad during the time I won´t be there. :-) I flew to Florida with my host family on December 19th.

This year´s Christmas were quiete unusual for me. Completely different than I´m used to. My first Christmas without family magic and fairy tales. Even though I was surrounded by my second family, the real family I missed a lot. Just that common lounging on the couch and watching fairy tales from morning to night ... oh ... I could only dream about that. Despite all the sadness and nostalgia, I had a beautiful joyous Christmas. :-)
For us in Chappaqua, Christmas already started on December 18th, when the grandmother arrived, and after dinner we unpacked the presents. Children unwrapped actually just one gift for each, the others were hidden. I got a watch that I wanted, cashmere gloves, candies and sundries. From my czech family bracelet and money, that I still have to buy something. haha :-) In the evening we just finished packing and went to bed.
The next day we headed to the airport and from there to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. All the way, I played with the idea of what it would be like. Christmas in Florida? Without a tree? Palms? With the hotel (with my grandmother at home)? Well, let us be surprised.
Surprise us really expected. This is what we have experienced during the flight (actually landing), I would not wish anyone. But I don´t want to repeat the story, you can find it on my Facebook wall.

The weather was fine, except for the crazy wind. Well, but I did not mind. Thanks to a temperature that was around 28 degrees, we lyied almost a week by the pool. One day we went shopping at the nearby outlet center. And on Dec. 25 we celebrated Christmas. It all started in the morning, when kids unwrapped the small gifts. Then I met Santa Claus as he delivers gifts, and in the evening we went for a family dinner. Yes all family - except me, and my host family, two grandmothers, grandfather and uncle Michael with his family. We all very much enjoyed it and went home.
Due to this unusual Christmas, I realized that I just miss ours Jesus, spruce and family welfare. Yes, it was beautiful and a nice Christmas, but illuminated palm trees and Santas who climb their homes are not for me. :-)
December 27, we flew back to New York and unpacked the last gifts that Santa left under the tree. I am already very much looking forward to the next Christmas. Perhaps it's glory with my family. :-) I hope you enjoyed your Christmas properly. And probably we "won´t see" this year I´d like to wish you the best start to the year, whether it is even better than the 2015! Bye : - *
