Week summary

Hello everyone,

wow that was a week, so much has happened that slowly even know where to start. Actually, I do. Let´s start from Monday. 

MONDAY

Call hurray and celebrate 3 days! Cultural Care reverted me back to my original group and Jennifer is my coordinator again. Well, since it´s before Christmas, Jen made a party on Monday. This time almost 60 au pairs met at bowling. In addition to the entertainment, there was also plenty of food (pizza, salads, desserts, ...) :-) 

Honestly, I have felt  as an intruder from the beginning. Among all au pairs I was probably the oldest ... not only by age, but also by the number of months I´ve spent here in the US. After half an hour I finally acclimatized and exchanged a few words with Vanessa, Julie, Robyn and Kirsty. Nothing beats good old familiar :-)

TUESDAY

I couldn´t wait for Tuesday. Had a lot of visitors! In the morning I had a breakfast on Manhattan with my friend. Around 12 I went to the World Trade Center. 

In front of the entrance to the Freedom Tower I met a mom´s boss and his son. They both know me, perhaps from my birth. Ha-Ha. I spent a lovely afternoon with them. We took a Ferry to the Staten Island, had lunch and went back. On our way we passed the Statue of Liberty - such a nice view. At the end we went to Starbucks for coffee and they gifted me by sweets from my grandmother and the small gifts from parents. :-) It was so nice. We said goodbye around 5 and they headed to the Brooklyn Bridge, and I for another meeting on Upper West Side.

At 6 I met my Czech friend Vlada. Heaven sent me him. That day he had some work on Manhatton. So we met in the evening and he drove me home. Well, I do so after a long and tiring day did not have to trudge train. :-) Thank you so much for lift and maybe sometimes I will bake something for him :-)

WEDNESDAY

I do not know how Wednesday run so fast.  At the last moment I was looking for gifts. Finally, my eye fell cash register! That's the idea! My kids might like it and have fun. So let´s see, let us surprise how they will look on Friday.

THURSDAY

Endless day! I worked from 7 to I don´t know ... Host dad was in Nashville and host mom at work, and at the Christmas party. The whole day was pouring rain. So I made a program for my kids so it wasn´t that bad.  Logan was at school, me and Averyat  music class and in the afternoon we had a play date at KidsU, where we met Julia and her kids. :-) At 8 pm I fell exhausted into my bed  and the children end ends too: D

FRIDAY

On Friday evening grandmother arrived to celebrate Christmas in advance, since Saturday we are going on a family vacation to warmer places:-) Well actually we did not celebrate too much, we just gave  gifts and that was it. I got a nice watch, I wanted them more than half year, then cashmere gloves (do not know if I will use them this year - the winter has not arrived yet), box of chocolates and starbacks ornament on the tree. All gifts made me happy :-)

Because all week was crazy I didn´t have time to meet my friends. So I went tobar in the evening. Normally I drink Coke when I'm driving, but this time I got Dylan's hot apple cider. Very good news!

After 2 hours I said goodbye  to all of them and wished a Merry Christmas. Well, I will miss them  ... but I'll be back soon :-)

Oh and I almost forgot. Already we had an interview with future au pairs. I´m really going home soon. :-( 

SATURDAY

I slept little longer than I usually do, but I needed it. I some energy for the packaging. Yeah I am packing up again at the last minute. As I do not like it. Even though I have a list of things I always hate it. The worse  is  when you have to pack stuff for place where is different temperature. It never know many dress I should bring, but I think I've taken enough of them: D An hour gone and I've got almost everything packed :-) Actually, no,my swimsuit is still getting dry... 

Now we have to wait for our car service and drive to the airport. Hurray! My first Christmas in the warmth. But probably it will be a bit strange without tree, snow, family life and fairy tales ... Oh, how I miss ... just lie on the couch and watch a Christmas fairy tale after another ...

It is almost time of departure, so I have to say you goodbye and pack the laptop. Have a nice Merry Christmas! :-)
