Life abroad

Today it's exactly one year since I sat in the departure hall in Prague airport and was waiting for my flight to NYC. On this day I couldn't imagine what/who I should expect. Well I knew it - nice family in Chappaqua with a gorgeous little girl and a cute little boy. But the question if I will live my American Dream was still running around my head.

Many people around the world desire to travel. Some people would like to move and live outside their native home. I was/am one of them. To Visit America has always been my dream and now the opportunity to live here for one year (or more) is in front of me. At the beginning my closest people were shocked about this idea, they could not understand why I want to leave my dream job and go to States to work as an au pair. After a few conversations they had understood and started to support my dream and kept their fingers crossed. For this act I want to say big THANKS.

America isn't paradise, everything is not amazing and simple as we see in the US  series and movies, but I fell in love with this country and today I can proudly say: "America will always be a place, where I found my second family."

I have many friends, who almost didn't visit our capital city Prague (they live 15 min away). Yes, it's so sad, but it's true. When I'm talking to them it's always... "Oh, I'm so jealous..." , "Oh, I can't afford it..." , "I wish I could do it too..." etc. They think that someone created this fairytale life for me. They are all wrong. I just followed my dream and maybe sometimes went ahead to my dream. When else should a person enjoy life if not now while he's still young. When you are older, you can think that life somehow goes. Youth is a perfect time when you are on the top of your power and you should do what you want and follow your dreams. Really!
